If your equipment is fitted with 13 amp (square pin) plugs, make sure that the correct fuse is fitted. The rating plate on the equipment or the instruction book will tell you how much electrical power the equipment needs. 3 amp and 5 amp fuses are readily available for these plugs. Under no circumstances should you bypass the fuse or replace it by wire, silver paper, or a nail, all of which are very dangerous.
