CONNECTORS EXPLAINED:

Elvcon

 

The Elvcon series of plugs, sockets, leads and boxes was developed by the Electrovision group in 2003 as a cheaper alternative to the Bulgin range. Competing for the same market, the Elvcon 7-pole connector is designed primarily for lighting applications where small, but lower current multi-live connections are needed. Essentially, this includes the traditional Mobile DJ 4-channel lighting boxes, or in controlling the on-off switching of 4 lighting effects at a time. Although the Bulgin connector remains in “pole” position (LOL), one or two notable lighting controller manufacturers such as NJD have utilised the Elvcon system.
