Administration

 

 

The Sales, Marketing, Accounts, Production Planning, Purchasing and Technical Departments are all based in the Administration Block. which also incorporates the reception area. Incorporated is an in-house training facility and boardroom on the ground floor of the block.

 

 

I.T. Facilities are catered for by the latest hardware and software. All the

usual systems expected in most companies these days are available. These include ISDN communications and digital telephone extensions, high speed ADSL connections which allow for remote access and working for our Sales Team.

 

The majority of these services are maintained ’in-house’ by the Technical Department, ensuring the longest up time available. Over the last few years 5 Star has developed a bespoke database and order processing system, in collaboration with the in-house retained software engineers.

 

 

This system not only looks after sales order processing but also production scheduling with dedicated terminals situated in various departments of the factory. This enables the Production Managers and Supervisors to track all workflow through the various stages. The technical department has also been heavily involved designing and implementing various marketing systems. These include the launch of the company web-site, CD-ROM, production and Exhibition stand designs.

 

As a company, 5 Star try wherever possible to produce and manage facilities ‘in-house’. This enables us to respond quickly to problems and faults. The Technical and Maintenance / Engineering Departments are well equipped to install software, hardware, electrical and structured cabling, making the company relatively self-sufficient.

 

 

As mentioned above, 5 Star produce their own CD-ROMS, in-house. With the latest image editing and publishing software, together with a combined CD duplicator / printer, the company can produce customized multimedia discs in relatively low volume. Being a specialist manufacturer, the company feels that low volume production of promotional media is far more sensible than bulk ordering. Also, in this way, the media can be tailored to specific clients and market sectors.
