KARAOKE DISCS
RESOURCES
KARAOKE MUSIC:
Will your Karaoke discs play on my home CD player, DVD player, Computer or Play Station?
CDG discs (order codes start KG on this site): The audio track will play on any CD player in the world, but to get the words on screen requires a player chipped for CDG technology. Generally, home DVD players, computers and Play Station are not equipped with this chip.
DVD and VCD discs (order codes start KD for DVD and KV for VCD) on this site): These cannot be played on normal CD players. Any DVD player, Sony Play Station or computers with DVD drives can play these discs.
divX discs (order codes start KX on this site): divX discs cannot be played on regular CD players or Sony play station. The format can play on your computer, as long as you have a suitable drive and software for divX.
Images conclusion: If your home system can support any of the above then so much the better! Do bear in mind though, that using players designed specifically for Karaoke will usually have a place to plug in a microphone, a key controller to adjust for the singer's key, and an echo control to enhance the singer's voice.
