KARAOKE MUSIC:

Do your Karaoke discs feature the original recordings by the original artists?

 

Almost always, Karaoke tracks are recreations of the original song and not original recordings. All songs have been re-recorded with the goal of sounding as similar to the original as possible, and in many cases the renditions are incredibly close. It has been known for the session musicians who played on the original recordings to be recruited to perform again in the studio for the Karaoke versions!

 

There are, however, a handful of original recordings – original artists Karaoke discs. There is a series of DVDs from Original Footage, a Motown CDG package and a new series called “Smash Hits” from the Music Factory. Please ask staff for details if you need help to find any of these.
