KARAOKE PLAYERS:
What Is A Karaoke Portable System?
There are a few definitions of this style of system. A portable system could be as small as our “Ghetto Blaster” type box, or our “standard home” Karaoke box. We refer to these home portable systems as “Karaoke Players – Home Machines” in our navigation map. Other types of portables systems include our fully professionally flightcased systems with industrial components. These are designed for use on the road in the clubs and bars up and down the country. We refer to these industrial systems as “Karaoke Packages and Consoles for Professional Use” in our navigation map.
A portable system will always have at least the very minimum criteria for the “straight out of the box” experience. This will include:
• A CD player that can play one or more Karaoke formats (we don’t sell cassette systems anymore!)
• At the very least one microphone input (more often 2 or 3)
• A built in amplifier
• A built in mixer (to control volume and sound eq)
• A built in speaker system (with the exception of our pro-industrial portable systems which use separate loudspeakers)
• At the very least one video-output phono socket (sometimes 2) which allows a connection to an external display source such as a TV screen or digital monitor.
The vast majority of portable systems will also have these features:
• The ability to add echo to a singers performance.
• An in-built tape cassette player / recorder which allows you to record / playback your own voice singing along to the music.
Many portable options may also feature:
• Key changers that allow you to find the most comfortable key for you to sing.
