Within the Single Colour range of effects cassettes, there are 8 designs to choose from. Each design is available in a choice of four colours - pink, green, blue or purple.
These effects cassettes combine two separate pieces of glass – each with the same design in two colourways, screenprinted onto the two glass pieces. Within the housing, one piece will remain static, the other revolving to create fascinating movement.
Traditionally, these effects cassettes are 3”, although this same format has recently been introduced as a 50mm cassette size, and both sizes are now available within the Multi Colour range.
A total of 83 cassette designs are available as standard - There are 32 in the Multi Colour Range (including 1 liquid effect), another 32 in the single colour range, 8 in the seasonal range, and 11 in the beam effects range.
Any 3 inch or 50mm cassette in conjunction with the relevant accessory, can be used with any Opti projector.
Using 3 Inch Effects Cassettes
To use these with the Solar or K projectors, you will need the single cassette rotator, LA528197.
To use these with the Goboshow or Gobopro projectors, you will need a Solar gate adaptor, LA528094, plus the single cassette rotator, LA528197.
Using 50mm Effects Cassettes
To use these with the Solar or K projectors, you will need either the single cassette rotator, LA528230, or the 4 x 50mm Cassette Autochanger, LA528233.
To use these with the Goboshow or Gobopro Projectors, you will need either the single cassette rotator, LA528050, or the 4 x 50mm Cassette Autochanger, LA528053.
3 inch or 50mm – which one to choose?
Quite simply, if you're starting from new, buy the 50mm cassettes – they're cheaper, they do everything the 3 inch cassettes do, and they're much more secure. The 3 inch cassettes remain in the range to service existing customers with 3 inch cassette systems.
Within the Multi Colour Range of effects cassettes, there are 32 intriguing and exciting designs to choose from. All are available in the traditional 3 inch cassette size, or the newer new version on 50mm (approx 2 inch) size. Projected image size remains the same, as both versions use a 38mm projection area.
The new 50mm cassette features a new positive snap fit and direct gear drive to connect to its rotator or autochanger. This new secure fitting ensures that your image remains fixed permanently with no chance of working it's way slightly askew. The new 50mm cassette format further benefits from having two glass gobos that may be removed and re-used in a new 50mm bearing. This feature will be particularly useful in the case of custom gobos as it will enable centre static logos to be retained whilst the outer rotating text glass can be updated with a new message. This will dramatically reduce the overall cost of producing new 50mm customised cassettes for clients wishing to update their existing ones.
Customising 3 Inch or 50mm Effects Cassettes
The unique OPTI Cassette combines two glass gobos, one which rotates and the other static, in an easy to use format. Typically these are produced with outer text constantly revolving around a fixed logo in the centre.
There is now a 50mm format for single rotators, alongside the 3 inch version. One advantage of the 50mm format is that the glasses can be easily reused if, for example, the outer text requires updating whilst the logo remains unchanged.
