The Freelander is a battery-powered unit with integrated CD player and stereo cassette recorder. As well as an LCD display indicating which CD function is being activated, the Freelander has a master volume control, which simultaneously controls the volume of the cassette, the CD and the microphone. Once the UHF radio microphone is being operated, it is possible to suppress the music playback function. In addition, the battery-powered unit has a user menu which greatly simplifies the operation of the device.

The 'heart' of the FreeLander consists of a 12V battery with a battery charge display (LED) and charging electronics to guarantee perfect battery charge and deep discharge protection. The inte-grated temperature protection switch ensures that the device goes off before overheating the amplifier. The automatic cut-off of inactive components greatly enhances the durability of the device. Depending on the type. length and volume of an operation, the battery will run for 6 to 20 hours.
